Workshop Description: This workshop will teach you how to skillfully paint clouds and water thus empowering you for all your future landscape paintings.

In this workshop, you will:

  • Learn to simplify clouds and water into shapes

  • With plenty of practice, you will advance from painting simple two-colour clouds and water to more complex, three-colour ones

  • Know how to paint two to three different types of clouds, calm ocean water, a large wave and reflections in water.

  • Learn how to avoid common mistakes.

Materials

Acrylic paints, medium body:

Titanium white
​Any Black
​Ultramarine blue
​Magenta
​Cadmium yellow

Brushes:

Filbert Size 8-10
Fan Brush size 8-10
Blending Brush size 8-10

If you don’t have these brushes, don’t go buying any. Bring the brushes that you have and we will make it work. 

Painting Surfaces:

4 canvas boards 11" x 14" (Preferred over canvas paper)

Other:

Palette: Large with lots of mixing room, disposable palettes are fine|
Palette knives
Rages and/or paper towels
Pencils
Sketchbook 

About the Instructor: Viena Wroblewska doesn’t just pull a rabbit out of a hat. With handouts, clear and simple instructions, a step by step demo, she will break the learning down into small pieces that anyone can absorb. You will also do a lot of learning by doing. After every step of the demo,  you will have a chance to reproduce each simple step on your own canvas, so that by the end of the two-day class, you are sure to feel confident about painting beautiful clouds and water in different forms.  

Originally from Poland, Viena is a graduate of Vancouver’s Emily Carr University of Art + Design and has honed her skills over the years under North America’s leading contemporary artists, as well as collected a few awards along the way for her acrylic, oil and watercolour work.  She passionate about both, painting and teaching painting.
